Roatan Village Resort's sales office is almost completed, and the restaurant on top has started. The sales and construction headquarters at the top of the resort site sits adjacent to Roatan's main road, with a sweeping view of the coast and the Caribbean. This building will house the engineering and construction management teams as well as a full time sales staff. It features indoor and outdoor meeting areas to take full advantage of the vista. The headquarters should be completed and operational next month.
Across the entry the restaurant is going up, also designed to take advantage of the fantastic views. The foundation has been completed and framing has started. Noteworthy is the basement, designed to house a full-scale wine cellar. A large selection of fine wines from around the world is being chosen and will be shipped in after the building is complete. The restaurant will be owned and operated by chef Carl, formerly of "The View". It will open in spring of 2009 with a casual menu, and then move more towards fine dining once Roatan Village Resort is complete.
Down on the main part of the site, dirt moving, roadwork and installation of infrastructure continue in preparation for ground breaking the first condo building, probably next month. Stay tuned, as once we start Roatan's tallest building, progress will be dramatic.
